Full editable conversion with pictures and layout is not connected yet. The two local options are limited alternatives.
Use for scans or pages containing both typed text and scanned text. OCR replaces text extraction on every page and can make mistakes. It does not restore pictures or layout. Resources download only when requested; recognition runs on your device.

A practical example
For changing a clause, choose text extraction and expect to rebuild the formatting in Word. If the original agreement was created in Word, obtaining that DOCX is the most reliable way to edit it.
Questions about pdf to word
Why can’t I edit text in the page-image option?
That option inserts a picture of each PDF page into Word. It keeps the rendered appearance, but the text belongs to the picture. Choose Extract editable text for text you can change; it does not reconstruct the document layout.
Will local text extraction recreate an editable agreement with its logo and tables?
No. The local text extractor does not reconstruct pictures, tables, signatures, or exact formatting. English OCR can read scanned text, but makes mistakes and does not solve layout reconstruction. Compare all extracted text with the original.
Does this change my original file?
No. PDF to Word creates a new downloadable file. The original on your device remains unchanged.
What should I do if processing fails?
Try fewer pages or a smaller file. Open the PDF in a trusted PDF editor to check for damage or encryption. Password-protected files must first be exported using the valid password. Page-image mode keeps the rendered appearance but text is not editable. Text extraction omits pictures, logos, signatures, and the original layout; scanned text may be missing. English OCR reads all pages when enabled and may make mistakes. Compare the result against every original page.
Will my files be saved here?
Working files are held in browser memory. Use Start over or close the tab to release the working state. Downloads remain on your device; this site cannot delete them.
